Welcome to my portfolio site. My name is Ryan A. Reed. I am a Network Engineer and web developer currently in my Senior year of college at Johnson & Wales University working towards my BA.
I have been working with computers for the last decade, from building to basic programming. I am extremely proficient with HTML and CSS including the creation of valid code. I recently began programming in PHP including all the pages of this web site. I have an intermediate knowledge of C++and javascript programming.
I have been building PCs and working with various operating systems for years. I have worked with Microsoft Windows 98, Microsoft Windows 2000, Microsoft Windows XP, Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Microsoft Windows Vista, Mac OS X, and various other Unix/Linux based operating systems. I am also extremely proficient in unattended installations of Windows XP and Windows 2000 including automatic installations of various pieces of software and service pack/hot fix integrations.
I am currently employed with VeriSign. I work in the firewall department in Providence, Rhode Island as a Security Analyst I. This job entails working with majore Fortunate 500 companies, working with firewall maintenance and troubleshooting. I currently work with, primarily, three major firewalls:
