Reedium.com v1.0
The first real HTML project I took up was building myself the first version of this portfolio website. I had this website up for roughly a year. To be honest, I was never really happy with the site. Looking back, I wish I had decided to go with a less fluid design. You can view the fluidity of the site by just changing the width of the browser.
Pros
- The News Dates - I definitely like how the dates for the news posts actually came out
- Non-Concrete Font Sizes - The scalability of the font is definitely a pro point. It allows the use of multiple text sizes and the text increases in size properly for the handicapped
- The Entire Resume - My resume page came out so well that the actual code was easily transferrable to the newest version of the site with little to no changes to the code itself. It also happens to look extremely close to the look of the actual resume itself
- Validity - The entire site validated with no issues and actually looks almost exactly the same cross-browser
- The News Dates - Although I like how the dates came out, I think they made the site seem less updated and looked bad for me
- Fluidity - The fluidity of the page, although something I liked originally, created issues in viewing the actual page across different resolutions. It made it harder to get the same look to the page across resolutions and browsers
- Lack of Professionalism - The site just lacked professionalism, in my opinion. I, unfortunately, do not have a professional photographs of myself so the one used in the header just didn't show enough professionalism to visitors
- Web 2.0ism - There was a little while I really enjoyed creating sites with that web 2.0 feel, with the blue and white colors. I still do but I also thing it has been played out quite a bit
- Incomplete Projects - I actually never got around to finishing the projects and really updating them
